Bro. R.C. was born September 6, 1936, in Lake Providence, Louisiana and passed away April 6, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Captain after 25 years of service. R.C. served at many local churches including First Baptist Monroe, First West, New Hope Baptist in Choudrant, First Baptist in Chatham, Fair Park Baptist and Second Baptist Houston.
Bro. R.C. was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy McPhearson; granddaughters, Katy Smith, Charlotte Drumwright; great-granddaughter, Lexsi Allen; parents, Corene and Robert Smith; mother-in-law, Eva Bishop; sister, Vera Kelso; and brother, James Smith.
Bro. R.C. is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Charlotte Harris Smith; daughters, Melinda Smith Hardey of Mesa, Arizona, and Sharon Drumwright of Shoreline, Washington; son, Robert Charles Smith, III and wife Jenny (Roan) of Homer, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rachel, Abigail, Molly, Kyle, Leslie, Charlotte Joy, Mitchell, James, Andy, Michael, Joshua, Jana and Emily; 20 beloved great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Harris Wilson (David); numerous nieces and nephews; along with many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Freeman, Danny Williams, Luke Warren, Von Parker, Bobby Parnell and Darris Waren.
