Peter Joseph Battaglia, Jr., age 63, passed away on July 10, 2025, at the University of Arkansas Medical School (UAMS) in Little Rock, AR after an aggressive and short battle with Multiple Myeloma.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeri Battaglia; his son, Peter Joseph Battaglia, III; his daughter, Jennifer Oglesby and her husband, Julian; his mother, Patricia Breland and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Hannah Battaglia, Joseph Battaglia and his wife, Livv, Quinn Battaglia and Zach Carroll, Natalie Battaglia, Ashlyn Murphy, William Murphy (born asleep); adopted grandson, Miles Lewis and his wife, Emily; great granddaughter, Ophelia “Rosie” Battaglia; his sister, Pam Guillory; nephew, Cale Guillory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Joseph Battaglia, Sr.; and a host of other relatives.
Pete, as he was known, was a good son, a loving husband, and a devoted father and brother. Pete was a loud Italian with the biggest heart and as kind as a teddy bear. He was a “man’s man” and took care of those he loved. If he could help, it didn’t matter whether he was hurting or tired, he just did it.
Pete did not want a funeral but a celebration to honor the memory of him with more laughter than tears. A party to celebrate his life will be held later.
Pete was an avid supporter of the LSU Tigers; the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers so please wear Pete’s favorite team colors to the gathering.
Memorials may be made in Pete’s honor to UAMS, Office of Institutional Advancement, 4301 West Markham, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
Messages of love and remembrance may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
