A celebration of life for Patsy Gwin Sharp Hollis, 81, will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville. Patsy was born March 3, 1941 in Conway, LA and passed away on June 18, 2022 in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness.
Patsy retired after 30 plus years at CenturyTel in Accounts Payable. She loved her work family and loved being a jokester at times, but sometimes would get them turned back on to her. They would let her walk around the office asking where her glasses were and the entire time they would be on top of her head. She also loved fishing, hunting, working in her flower garden, and having family gatherings. Patsy also enjoyed going to the boat with her friends Otis and Chunk McDougle playing the penny slots.
Patsy always showed how much she cared and loved her family until the very end and she will be greatly missed. She also loved her friends and family in the Conway/Truxno area, especially the Futch Boys, Otis, the late Chunk McDougle, Anne Marie Anderson, and her Faith Baptist Church Family. Patsy loved her grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Pappy.”
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Frank Hollis; parents, Eugene and Loreana Sharp; brothers, Billy, Bobby, and Terry Sharp and grandchild, Caleb Salley. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Robin Salley (Tommy); son, Richard Hollis (Shelley); brother, Larry Sharp (Connie); sisters-in-law, Patsy Ann Sharp and Dee Sharp; 5 grandchildren, Perri Salley, Erin Salley, Josh Salley, Tristen Hollis, and Makaela Hollis; great-grandchildren, Lissy and one on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We would also like to acknowledge our extended family, Junior Green (Vicki), Bettye Slocum, Stephanie Dutton (Jeremy), Kathy Calhoun (Michael), Ken Slocum, Charles Slocum (Fanya); 8 extended grandchildren, Ryan, Judd, Coda, Maddie, Grace, Kennon, Quincey, and Joey.
The family would like to thank her doctors in Monroe and at Christus Highland in Shreveport for the love and care they showed her in her last days.
