Obit for: Pat M. Moyers Kilpatrick Funeral Hone Ruston, LA 318-255-2832 Pat M. Moyers Funeral services for Pat M. Moyers, 70, of Ruston will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 1, 2010 at Grace United Methodist Church. Dr. Wayne Evans and Rev. Hulen Warren will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA. Pat was born on July 23, 1940 in Vicksburg, MS and died on October 29, 2010 in Monroe, LA following a brief illness. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. Pat was employed as an Administrative Manager for T. L. James Co. for 31 years and Louisiana Aircraft for seven years. He was also very involved in Ruston High School athletics and an avid supporter until the time of his illness. Pat was the former treasurer of the Ruston High Booster Club and Ruston High Football Club for many years. His sense of humor was something to behold and he was always there to help anyone in anyway he could. Pat was known as “Poppy” to his granddaughters, Meredith and Amelia, who were the love of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; Eddie L. Moyers and Lucille Lewis Moyers; two brothers, James Olin and Edward L. Moyers; and sister, Ella Dean Moyers Hall. He is survived by his wife Linda Moyers; daughter, Christie Moyers Edwards and husband Thomas; granddaughters, Meredith and Amelia Edwards all of Ruston; sister, Mary Ann Moyers Barker of Hamburg, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matt Barker, Billy Gillum, Lawrence Higginbotham, Hugh David King, Clyde Loyd, Modell Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Anderson, James Anderson, Charlie Bourgeois, Chick Childress, J. P. Dunbar, Bob Flournoy, Joe King, Ralph King, Tommy King, Perry Lowe, John McKinney, David Moyers, Don Shankles, Jack Thigpen, and Phillip Washington. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 3401 N. Trenton Street, Ruston, LA 71270 and Louisiana Tech Wesley Foundation, 201 College Street, Ruston, LA 71270.
