Skip Crawley, Jr., 80, of Arcadia, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Driskill Cemetery, Highway 507 south of Arcadia under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Reverend Jeff Hoffman, pastor of First Baptist Church Arcadia, will officiate. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Fellowship Hall First Baptist Church immediately following burial.Skip was born in Bienville, LA on July 14, 1937, and passed away at his home in Arcadia on August 27, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Crawley, Sr. and Lucille Shell Crawley; his sister, Lola C. Null, and an infant brother and sister; brothers-in-law: Bubba Van Hook, Tommy Mounger, Tootie Null, and nephew, Matthew Mounger.Skip is survived by two sisters: Peggy C. Van Hook of Arcadia, LA, and Dorothy C. Mounger of Baton Rouge, LA; nephews: Mike Van Hook and wife, Lisa; Alan Van Hook and wife, Allison; Andy Null and wife, Mary Jo; Charlie Null; and nieces: Patricia N. Squyres and husband, Sam; Debbie N. Masterman, Mary N. Elliott and husband, John; and several great nephews, nieces, and many close cousins.Skip made a profession of faith at an early age, was baptized in the Mill Pond in Bienville, and later joined First Baptist Church in ArcadiaSkip attended Arcadia High School and Chamberlin Hunt Military Academy. He worked with his father in the timber business and raised cattle. He enjoyed riding horses and always owned a beautiful horse.Skip was a quiet yet caring man. He loved his family and especially enjoyed Crawley family reunions. His conversations always led to books, movies, and horses.
