Graveside services for Opal Scallan, age 97, of Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2011 at Riverview Cemetery on South Grand Street, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe with Charles Pryor, Ed.D. officiating. Mrs. Scallan passed away Friday, January 21, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Joseph Scallan and her parents Rufus and Katie Williams. She retired from South Central Bell. Mrs. Scallan is survived by a nephew Kenneth Barry Williams; two nieces Carol A. Mullis and husband Dan and Billie Delores Waggoner; great niece Angelia M.
