Myrtis Lee Mellon

Funeral services for Myrtis Lee Smith Mellon will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Rev. Jeff Luellen will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes ~ West Monroe.
Myrtis was born on June 26, 1932 in Rayville, Louisiana and passed away on November 27, 2020 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a longtime member of Hyde Park Baptist Churchand was the owner of green houses. Myrtis loved plants, sewing, quilting, oil painting, but most of all loved the church and being with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mellon; grandson, Chris Taylor; mother, Onie Smith; sister, Eunice Davis; brothers, Weslie Mayo, Leslie Mayo, Victor Adams.
Myrtis is survived by two daughters, Mary Allen and husband Ricky Upshaw, Danni Taylor; brother, Carl Adams; grandchildren, Michelle Askin, Tara Balsamo, Chad Taylor; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Alyssa, Kylee, and Jaylyn; great-great-grandchildren, Greyson and Taylor; and many other cherished family and friends.
