Loretta Mamie Wilson Greer, 90, of West Monroe, Louisiana, born Jan. 26, 1926, as the 8th child of 11 to Thomas Porter and Odell Wilson, passed away Tuesday morning, January 24, 2017 at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dyann Jennings and grandson, Mark Wilkinson III. She is survived by her brother Walter Wilson and sister Nora Lee Viola and spouse LeRoy;2 daughters, Marilyn Gilmer and Susan Hobson and their spouses Sonny Gilmer and Warren Hobson; 5 grandchildren, Ellen Kay, Stephan Jennings, Eric Jennings, Dustin Odaware, Derek Odaware, and their spouses Keith Kay, Kim Jennings, Abby Jennings, and Angie Odaware; 8 great grandchildren, Lance, Lucas, Kirby, Lydia, Makaela, Anikah, Faith, and Emma Loretta loved the Lord, had a great voice and enjoyed singing hymns. She will be remembered for having a very giving spirit, being a wonderful listener, and having a unique gift to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many lives she has touched. She donated her body to the LSU, Shreveport, School of Medicine for the Advancement of Medical Education and Research. A Memorial marker will be placed in her memory at the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Downsville, LA. A time of remembrance will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
