Phillip Antley Elmore left a message on September 16, 2010:
All of us have made mistakes. Some, like myself, have made more than others. I think I knew Joe Antley quite well. For the previous writer to use this forum for thier personal grievance is beyond poor taste. Joe is gone. The only person hurt by their writings are Deborah and Joe's wonderful wife. I know that it hurt Joe very much not to have had a relationship with Deborah. To have developed and maintained such a relationsip would only have hurt Deborah and her parents. I know not who would write such a hateful thing in a condolence column, but I think it will be you who will answer to our lord. With your tongue, you have hurt the ones who have no fault in this long forgotten mistake. Joe's family forgave him decades ago and Deborah was raised by wonderful and loving parents. Why after all of these years anyone would want to publicize these facts. Everyone has opinions but I am more entitled than most to say what I think about Joe. I was raised by a very wonderful man and have a wife, like Joe's that is far better than I deserve. For the past 30 years, Joe has know the lord and has worked tirelessly for Christ and his church. I hope the lord forgave Joe for the mistakes he made early in his life. As I stated, I have a right to say what I think about Joe. I am his son. He did not raise me, but I stayed in touch with him his whole life. If you have something bad to say about Joe, say it to my face. Phillip Antley Elmore 1215 Finks Hideaway Road Monroe, LA
NO NEED left a message on December 19, 2007:
About JO ANTLEYHe had a daughter through an affair he had in June of 1962. Of that affair, on March 8, 1963, Deborah Kay Mecom was born to Clemmie Lee Mecom. Being a loving man and husband, Clemmie's husband, Leory raised Deborah as his very own. JO Antley knew the situation and made it his decision to not pursue a relationship with his daughter, Deborah. He claims to be Christian, but did not walk a Christian lifestyle. This man is now answering for his sins and wrong doings to the Lord. The Lord who knew all along about Deborah. It was his most intense loss to not have really known Deborah or her 2 gorgeous daughters. Thank God that his plan was for Deborah to be born. She is a ray of sunshine unto every person she meets. She's good. She's successful. She's loved more than anyone on earth. Without JO Antley. I'm sure she was better off. Not a thing did he give to his love child. But, love is what she is....what she beams. No thanks to JO Antley....Deborah will live a long, healthy, wonderful life knowing her only father. Leroy Mecom. A TRUE Hero. Her Daddy.

I COUNT IT AN HONOR TO HAVE BEEN A FRIEND OF JOE'S. HE WAS SUCH A BLESSING TO ME. THE MANY LIVES HE TOUCHED IS TRULY A LEGACY HE HAS LEFT BEHIND. JOE IS NOT IN PAIN ANYMORE, AND HE HAS ALREADY HEARD WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT! ANOTHER SOLDIER GONE HOME. THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME, WE TRULY ARE JUST PASSING THROUGH. I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY. FOR THOSE OF US THAT KNOW JESUS AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR, WE KNOW THAT WE WILL SEE OUR LOVED ONES AGAIN. UNTIL THEN, KNOW THAT JOE IS HAVING ONE BIG REUNION WITH THOSE THAT WENT BEFORE HIM. POLLY I LOVE YOU.   RUTHIE FORD
