Mildred Tom Holstead Corley Kilpatrick Funeral Home Run Date: June 19, 2007 RUSTON, LA- Mrs. Mildred Tom Holstead Corley, 81, passed away on Tuesday. June 19, 2007 in Monroe, LA following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmie D. Pyles of Quitman United Methodist Church officiating. Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, .June 19th at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mrs. Corley was born April 27, 1926 in Ruston, LA, to Allen and Ruby Holstead. She was a native of Ruston her entire life. Mildred graduated from Ruston High School. She married George E. Corley. Sr. in Ruston. After 32 years of service, she retired from South Central Bell and then worked as a phone operator at Louisiana Tech University. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Corley was preceded in death by her husband and only sister, Bonita Holstead. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and James Roach of Haynesville, LA; son and daughter-in-law, George Rusty and Chere Corley of Simsboro, LA; and daughter, Jan Durrett of Ruston. Mrs. Corley had three grandchildren, James David Roach and wife Dawn of Marietta, GA, Michael Corley of Simsboro, LA, and Angela Tuggle and husband Lane of Bossier City, LA. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her last few years doting on her seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Roach, Jonah Roach, Jonathan Roach, Morgan Traylor, Austin Corley, Chandler Tuggle, and Charlie Tuggle. Pallbearers will be James David Roach, Lane Tuggle, Wayne Simpson, Doug Burt, James Payton, and David Roach. The family would like to thank the staff of Glenwood Regional Medical Center and Leslie Lakes Retirement Center for their compassionate care in her last days. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
