Michael Joseph Eckert Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Michael Joseph Eckert, 24, of West Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Randy Bardwell officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA. Michael was born December 8, 1982, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on April 8, 2007, in West Monroe, LA. A 2001 graduate of West Ouachita High School where he was a member of the football team. He was employed at Ted-Co for over 8 years. He was enlisted in the Louisiana Army National Guard, scheduled to leave this past Monday. Michael enjoyed cooking and being with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank, Sr., and Ethel Eckert, and Frank Buchanan. Survivors include his mother, Sheryl Buchanan Kelley and her husband, John; his father, Frank Eckert, Jr., and his wife, Loretta; a brother, Jason Grigsby; a stepbrother, James Fourmy; his grandmother, Shirley Buchanan; an uncle, Richard Eckert; 5 aunts, Karen Palmer, Debra Skipper, Karen Taylor, Mary Keithley, and Frankie Monk; and numerous cousins and other family members. Pallbearers will be Jason Grigsby, Randy Diel, Joey Reeves, Will Turnbow, Jessie Sims, and Jack Sims. Honorary pallbearers include Brandon and Corbin Silmon, Michael Wayne Smith, Kenneth Reeves, Kirk Tedeton, Sr. and Kirk Tedeton, Jr., Terry Sims, Sr. and Terry Sims, Jr., James Wilkinson, and Clayton Shirley. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, April 10, 2007, from 5:00-8:00PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
