Funeral services for Melvin Woolsey, 67, will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, May 14, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Officiating will be Reverends Wayne James and Linda W. Armstrong. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Woolsey was born December 15, 1944 in Monroe, LA, and passed away May 12, 2012. Melvin was a heavy equipment mechanic and served in the Army National Guard. He loved his family very much. He is preceded in death by his daddy, Claudie 'Buddy' Woolsey; his mother, Mary 'Shine' Woolsey; his sister, Alma Woolsey Crenshaw; and his brother, Claudie Earl Woolsey, Jr. Melvin is survived by his daughter, Tammy Woolsey; son, Michael Woolsey; granddaughters, Kristin Washington and Kayla Washington Leggett; grandson, Dylan Woolsey; granddaughters, Taylor Woolsey and Raegan Woolsey; grandson, Jordan Randall; great grandson, Rydder Lowrey; great granddaughter, Denny Kaylynn Lowrey; nephew; Frank Louis Woolsey and wife Shawna; brother Frank Woolsey; sister Linda Woolsey Armstrong; mother of his children, Mary Anna Grubbs; special friends, Charlotte Woolsey and Peggy Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Robert Grubbs, Frank Woolsey, Dylan Woolsey, Bruce McDaniels, Jonathan Woolsey, Jordan Randall, Devyn Woolsey, Toby Trichell. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the 3:00 PM service time, Monday, May 14, 2012 also at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe.
