Officiating will be Rev. Aleck Nyegaard. Interment will be at Liberty Taylor Cemetery in Farmerville, LA under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.He was born on August 8, 1932 and passed away on August 22, 2015. Mr. Edwards was in the United States Army as a Corporal in the Engineering Battalion in Saalfeldan, Austria. He was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church and Deacon since 1975. He was also a member of Union Fraternal Lodge # 53 and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers for 63 years. He is Preceeded in death by his wife Patricia Sims and daughter Cynthia Breed.Survivors include his children: Jennifer Bordelon (Terry) of Branson, MO; Melton Gray Edwards, Jr. (Debra) of Farmerville, LA; Philip Taylor Edwards (Missy) of Pineville, LA; Peggy Stracener of West Monroe, LA; Eric Alan Edwards of Springfield, LA; eighteen grandchildren, Emily Wilson, Sarah Bordelon, Molly Bordelon, Cody Bordelon, Tyler Breed, Whitney Johnson, Hunter Breed, Mel Edwards, Amy Edwards, Blake Edwards, Allison Edwards, Taylor Edwards, Travis Edwards, Kevin Stracener, Kylie Stracener, Kole Stracener, Madeline Edwards, Bailey Edwards, and twelve great-grandchildren, and sister Reba Albritton (Rex), brother-in-law; LaJune Edwards (sister-in-law); Susan Edwards (sister-in-law); Fiance LaVerne Johns and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be grandsons.Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.Online condolence messages may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
