Funeral services for McKenzie Andrew Hudson, age 22, will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Officiating will be Father Ray Waldon. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. McKenzie was born on May 13, 1988, and passed away on December 20, 2010, from complications of a traumatic brain injury. McKenzie was a graduate of the Youth Challenge Program YCP at Camp Beauregard. McKenzie enjoyed working with his family's owned and operated business, The Creamery. He was preceded in death by his father, Joey Hudson; grandparents, Fred and Rosanne Frazier. McKenzie is survived by his mother, Dayna Frazier Hudson; step-dad, Jeff Liner; brother, Frazier Hudson; sister, Caroline “Cricket” Hudson; grandparents, Bill and Velma Zimmerebner; great uncle, Chuck “Sonny” Reid and wife, Lisa; aunts, Cheryl Lowry and husband, Tommy, Robin Frazier, Lisa Waldon and husband, Father Ray, Renee Hudson Hogg, Billie Zimmerebner and Monica Zimmerebner; uncles, Jimi Hudson, Tim Zimmerebner and wife, Beverly and numerous cousin, family members and friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to his mentor, Eric Butler, who helped McKenzie through very difficult times. Pallbearers will be Bret Carr, Trey Weaver, Nathan Carroll, Cody Carroll, Ryan Lenard and David Hanks. Visitation will be at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe.

Kenzie, I still can't believe this happened to you. You were my best friend in the entire world. I'll never forget all the nights we told daddy we were watching Scarface just so I could stay at your house for a few more hours. Then he finally gave in and just started letting me stay the night. I have so many great memories with you and I laugh & think of you everytime I see a can of sardines. I miss you so much, Mckenzie! I love you and you will be in my heart forever. I know you'll be watching over me until the day we meet again. You are the best gaurdian angel I could ever ask for. I will be forever grateful for the day you walked into my life and sat in the desk behind me in Mrs. Martin's 8th grade english class. I love you, Kenz! You're best friend, Linz.

We are truly and deeply saddened at McKenzie's passing. I can't think of another kid who possessed more life and more love of it. McKenzie brought joy and laughter into our house many times. His irrepressible energy was always welcome. God blessed us with this young man's spirit. We will always think of him with love.

I am so saddened to hear of McKenzie's passing. He was one of my all time favorite students! I am so glad I had the chance to teach him and to know him!
