Funeral services for Maxine Thigpen May, 77, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 26, 2010, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Rev. Bo Horne, Karl Kaufman and Rev. Randy Burdeaux will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery, Sikes, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. May was born December 14, 1932 in Sikes, La and went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2010, in West Monroe. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was a retired supervisor with Louisiana State Department of Family Services and Project Independence. Mrs. May was a wonderful mother who loved to sew, cook, garden and fish. Mrs. May is survived by her husband, Theo May; daughters, Debbie Sims and husband Perk, Lisa Tolbird and husband Larry, Amy May, Jan Ritter and husband Randy; sister, Earlene May; grandchildren, Daniel and wife DeAnna Morrow and their children Malory and Noah, Brandon Morrow, Blake Tolbird, Todd Tolbird, Caroline and Connor Ritter; numerous nieces and nephews who knew her affectionately as “Aunt Mickey”. She was preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Evelyn Thigpen, brother Bennie Thigpen and a sister Ruth May. Pallbearers will be Daniel Morrow, Brandon Morrow, Blake Tolbird, Todd Tolbird, Randy Ritter, Perk Sims and Connor Ritter. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until the 10:00 AM time of service at Asbury United Methodist Church.
