Gene, Joye, and Susan -- My prayers are with you during this very trying time. Since I didn't attend Spearsville schools until high school, I didn't have the privilege of having your mother as my teacher. However, I certainly knew her, and always appreciated and respected her kind, gentle, dignified manner. My prayers will be with you during what I know will be a beautiful service today.

Susan, Joye, Gene, and families,We are praying with you during this time of loss. Aunt Maurene was such a part of our lives growing up, at school and church. I remember her as Mrs. Addie's assistant in Sunday School and of course as our second grade teacher. Then more recently we were able to see her when we visited the Senior Citizens Dining Site. She was always so glad to see us.

Gene, and the family, we are so sorry for your loss. Even though our loved ones are blessed with a very long life, we are never ready to let them go. Your mother had such a quiet sweet spirit and has left an indelible mark on all that knew her. She will be greatly missed by all. May the special memories of her be a comfort to all at this trying time. God Bless.

Your family members are in our prayers. Sandy and I will be unable to attend the funeral service but I did want to express my love and appreciation to you. Mrs. Maureen was a great woman of God. I know she taught hundreds of students through the years but she was my second grade teacher at Spearsville. She was so caring, patient and compassionate. We began every day with the pledge, prayer and Bible reading. Growing up in the church with her grandchildren was so special. She loved her church and she was totally dedicated to her Lord. She had a profound influence on me. Those memories will never be forgotten. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. I thank God for her. May our Lord bless you with wonderful memories until you see her again!

Gene, Joye and Susan, my best memories of your Mother are of her as a friend when I visited your home, or did church activities where she was present to lend a hand or gently scold. Though quiet and gentle, her spirit always gave out a bright light. She had a way of making me want to behave a little better with just her calm way and I somehow knew she wanted the best for me. I have always loved your family and treasure the memories of time spent with you all. My heart is heavy for you three and her grandchildren, yet I know that there is a poignant joy in knowing that she has earned her reward and enjoys reunion with so many of her loved ones. I keep you in my prayers for peace and comfort and may the days ahead bring you gladness as you share your memories and savor the goodness that was part of your home life with Miss Maurene and Mr. Willie.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

My memories of Mis' Maurene are numerous but mostly that she was so quiet spoken but got your attention and kept it; she made me feel special in her class when I so needed that attention; she loved unconditionally. Sweet, sweet memories which I have treasured all my life. Love and God's blessings!
