Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Calhoun, LA , under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Long was born May 31, 1920 in Hico, LA and passed away peacefully at West Monroe Guest House September 26, 2007. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey H. Long. Mrs. Long leaves behind her nieces, Maudie L. Price of Alexandria, VA, Velda Sue Price, Joyce Marie Tanner, Brenda Price Fleming and husband Brad, Shirley Howard and husband ¨Buster; nephews, Edward ¨Lynn Price, James Price, Raymond Scott Garza all of West Monroe, LA and many other family members. Pallbearers will be Steven Thomas, Scott Thomas, Artis Thompson, James Price, Andrew Price, and Brad Fleming. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 1:00 PM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Aunt "Matlou" was a neighbor of mine as a child and through my teen years. Although she was not kin to us, all my brothers and myself came to know her as Aunt "Matlou" early in our childhood. She has been there for my Mother several times when she needed her help with all us kids. Both her and mother had become good friends; and the friendship remained even after Mother and Dad had moved. Aunt Matlou had made a yellow dress for me to wear in a grammar school program. I just recentely spoke with her about that dress. I told her how much I had loved it, and how beautiful I had thought it was and still do to this day. I will miss my Aunt Matlou!
