Psalms 34:17-18
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Graveside services celebrating the life of Matthew Joseph Robinson, Jr., 25, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Oak Ridge, Louisiana. Officiating the services will be Reverend John Mabray with music provided by Hallie Cleveland Yarbrough. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
Matthew was born on May 17, 1995 and died on October 22, 2020. In between, he loved and was loved by so many. His first name—Matthew—means “Gift of God”, and his middle name—Joseph—means “He shall add”. What a beautiful picture of his life. He truly was a gift to all who knew him. His bright smile, infectious laugh, and silly demeanor added so much joy and laughter to our lives. He was a ray of “sonshine”, as his mom often said, that lit up every room into which he walked. Matthew enjoyed working out, hanging out with his friends and family, and spending time with his girlfriend, Victoria. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU) and was looking forward to moving to Texas in pursuit of a medical device sales career. He could not wait to be “Uncle Junior” to his soon-to-be niece, Ava Allen Hill. He loved his sisters Hannah, Garnett, and Larsen and enjoyed to the fullest being their little and big brother. He was the apple of his parents’ and grandparents’ eyes. His dad was so proud of him. We are lucky to have known and loved him and will be forever grateful for the time we had with him. Thank you God for the incredible gift.
Left to cherish Matthew’s memory are his mother; Kelly Gardner and her husband, Adam; his father, Matthew Joseph Robinson, Sr. and his wife, Roxi; sister, Hannah Robinson and her wife, Ashley Falcon; sister, Garnett Robinson Hill and her husband, Cody and soon to be niece, Ava Allen Hill; sister, Larsen Grace Gardner; grandparents, Mary Allen “Bumpy” McCormick Windsor, Johnny and Wanda Robinson, Sandy “Alexandra” Robinson; uncle, Rhett Robinson and his wife, Donna; aunt, Shannon McCormick Gayle and her husband, Phillip; step-uncle, Bob Thompson and his wife, Cindy; step-uncle, Jason Thompson and his wife, Laura; first cousins, Lauren Robinson, Rhett Robinson Jr., Phillip Gayle, Jr., and McCormick Allen “Mack” Gayle; step-cousins, Elaine “Lainey” Thompson and Colby Thompson, Jordan and Brennan Thompson.
