Funeral services for Esther Marzell Hemphill will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Pastor Linda Trimble officiating.  Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens.   Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Saturday October 28, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM.

Marzell was a former business owner and a retired school bus driver for Ouachita Parish. She loved spending time with family at gatherings and cookouts. She also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.  Marzell was an animal lover with a kind heart who loved to dance and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband LH Hemphill; parents Alta Lou “Tiny” and Alford “Bodid” Johnson; brother Benoit Johnson; and stepson Scott Hemphill.

Marzell is survived by her daughter Stephanie Lynn Morris; son  Stacey LH Hemphill (Laura); step-children Lamar Hemphill (Diane), Janet Hemphill, Pam McCready (Kenny), Ginger Hemphill and Randy Hemphill; granddaughter Keysha Ward (Lance) and numerous step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren Desari Lucky, Hayden White, Keylan and Kameron Ward and numerous step-great-grandchildren; brother Mark Johnson (Penny); sisters Sonja Aurelius (Marcus), and Lewellen Kidder (Troy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mitch Bouy, Josh Alleman, Shawnesy Thompson, Johnny Cunningham, Josh Sandlin and Brad Frith. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Johnson.
