Funeral services for Mary Sue Smith, 95, of Dubach, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  Services will be held at Dubach United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephanie Green officiating.

Mary Sue passed away peacefully at Willow Ridge Nursing Home during the early morning hours of May 27, 2022.  She was a retired teacher, avid rose grower and most importantly, the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She was active in many organizations, such as the Women’s Department Club, Alpha Delta Kappa and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association of which she was honored with the Name of Fame in 2011.

Mary Sue was born October 16, 1926, in Simsboro, Louisiana to the parents of William Thomas Daniel and Pearl Owens Daniel.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William C. “Hot” Smith, daughter Mary Claire Smith, sister Dorothy Daniel and brother Eugene Daniel.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy Smith and wife Trish of Shreveport,LA, granddaughter Anna Smith of Shreveport, grandsons Chris Smith and wife Shelia of Simsboro, LA, Nathan Hooper and wife Jessie of Watertown, NY, and her great grandsons Dawson Smith and Sawyer Atwood.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dubach United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 176, Dubach, LA 71235-0176.
