Mary Hendrix was born January 9, 1941 in Cadmus, Ohio and passed away March 21, 2023 in Calhoun, Louisiana after a long battle with heart disease.
Mary was the daughter of John and Goldie Waugh. Her father John was a farmer and loved working his 100 acres. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Caroll, Clifford, and Ivan.
Mary graduated Cum Laude from Northeast Louisiana University in Nursing School in May 1978. She went on to a long career in nursing, oncology and many other assignments. In 1980 she taught at the Delta Ouachita Vo-Tech until 2000 when cancer forced her into early retirement. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church, West Monroe. She and her husband Billy started a Singles Class which was very productive.
Mary is survived by her children Brian Crump (Tracy) and Angela Kidner (Blake).
Mary moved back to the farm in Ohio and built a new house. They planted a garden that would feed many families in the Ohio Valley. The family spent the summer of 2000 cleaning the land and many thanks to the folks of the Ohio Valley for being so kind to us. The family eventually sold the farm and moved back to Louisiana to be close to the kids.
