I am a friend of Judy's and have heard so much about her mother and father. I know she was a loving and caring mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I know she will be missed by all her family and friends. I pray God's comfort upon each of you at this time of sorrow. God Bless

My heart goes out to all of you for the loss of Mary. I considered her a very dear friend even though we didn't keep in touch. We know that she is in a much better place as she is with our Lord. Isn't that wonderful to know and that she will be there waiting for us.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I am a former daughter in law of Will Henry and Claudine Thompson and I just wanted to say it was a pleasure knowing Mrs. Mary Shumate. She was a true friend to Claudine throughout the years. Any time I needed any medical advice Mrs. Thompson would tell me to call Mary, and as always she had a remedy for any thing. We lovingly called her Dr. Shumate. I know her family and friends are going to miss her, and I know there are no words that can be said to comfort the ones left behind. I wrote the poem below in honor of her and her life. She might have gave advice on how to heal, Yet, more than that, she knew how to feel. She was a friend to others throughout her life. She was a loving mother and to ìDub,î a perfect wife. Mary will be missed here by so many, Because Friends, she had plenty. Right now though, Her face is aglow. For she is in the presence of her dear Savior, And her love ones, who have gone on before. Maryís hand, Claudine now has taken hold, As she leads her down streets of gold. DeWanna McMillan

Mary, words cannot express the feelings that I have and hold in my heart for you. I, as others, have grown to love you so much, and I will always treasure those talks and times we have shared together. You will always be in that special place in my heart.
