Funeral services for Mary Ann (MiMi) Cox Shannon will be held at First Baptist Church of Swartz at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 5, 2018 with Reverend Ron Thomas and Reverend Aaron Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery.Mary Ann passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, LA at age 77. She was born June 13, 1940 in Converse, LA to Ben and Nannie (Egan) Cox. After the loss of her father; she went to reside at the LA Baptist Children Home in Monroe, LA until graduation from Ouachita Parish High School.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz. Mimi loved her church and the many friends she had there. Her profession spanning 37 years was chart integrator for Ashland Oil, Petro-Lewis and Primos Production.Preceding her in death are parents; Ben and Nannie Cox, a brother, Curtis Cox. Those left to cherish Mimi memory are: Gene; her precious, loving husband of 59 years; her children,Carol Hodge of Collinston, Geanie (Charles) Laing of Bastrop, Brian Shannon of West Monroe, Kenneth (Nancy) Shannon of Monroe; a brother, David (Beverly) Cox of Johnstown, CO. Grandchildren; Jessica (Aaron) Marquardt, Mitch (Toshia) Laing, Jamie (Phillip) Bader, Joshua Shannon, Courtney Laing and Kara Hodge. Great Grandchildren: Ian Keith, Aly Keith, Reagan Fulmer, Harrison Laing as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Pallbearers will be Hosa McNew, Russell Shannon, Rick Harper, J. R. Capps, Buddy Cork, and Randy ONeal.There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.Charitable contributions may be made to Gideon International, LA Baptist Children Home in Monroe, Or The American Heart Association.
