Funeral services for Mrs. Martene June Bramlett Gandy, 90, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Dr. Greg Clark, Dr. Barry Blanton, and Rev. David Moreland will officiate. Interment services will follow at Salem Cemetery in Athens, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Gandy was born June 1, 1931 in Farmerville, LA and passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2022 in West Monroe. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School and attended business school in Shreveport.
A charter member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church, she was active in the choir and taught Sunday School. Music played a big role in her life whether she was singing, playing the piano, or attending her children’s and grandchildren’s band concerts. A member of the Ouachita Volunteers for Family and Community she held various offices and was named Volunteer of the Year. She was a 20+ year volunteer and Volunteer of the Year for the Glenwood Hospital Auxiliary. She was a big sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Louisiana Tech teams.
Mrs. Gandy was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Gandy; son, Michael Lane Gandy; and sister, Marguerite B. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gandy; daughter-in-law Candace Gandy; grandchildren, Casey Gandy Brown and husband Kenny; Nathan Gandy and wife Amanda; Audrey Gandy Trisler and husband Tyler; step-grandchildren, Tia Hexom and Nathan Hexom; great grandchildren, Anna Claire Hemphill and husband Spencer, Logan Brown, Cade Brown, and Zoe Gandy, and great-great granddaughter, Ainsley Brown. She is also survived by her three brothers: Alvin Bramlett and wife Gloria, Alden Bramlett and wife Mary Ann, and Perry Bramlett and wife Susan.
Pallbearers are Gary Bramlett, Marty Conner, Paul Dale Gandy, Jerry Gandy, and Bill Powell.
Honorary pallbearers are Barry Bramlett, Elic Bramlett, Eric Bramlett, Van Bramlett, Jimmy Gandy, Prentis Gandy, Dennis Powell, and Mark Smith.
Memorials may be made to the Cedar Crest Baptist Church Building Fund.
