Marlow Neil “Scooter” Morgan

Marlow Neil “Scooter “Morgan passed peacefully from this life surrounded by family members on April 28, 2023.Scooter Morgan was born on June 30, 1944, in Monroe, Louisiana. His parents were Gordon Lee “Skeeter” Morgan and Louise Cook Morgan. Scooter grew up on Bayou Desiard and spent his youth on the bayou and around Monroe. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister-in-law, Janet Morgan, and the mother of his children, Amanda Cobb Mott. He is survived by his children, Cobb Morgan(Shawn), Marlowe Barham (Preston) and Amiee Schlotzman. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Auburn Morgan, Tyler Hamby, Carlee Branch, Travis Adams and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, The Reverend Craig Morgan and nieces, Lyne Dearmon and Wyn Bomar.

Services are under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.

Scooter graduated from Neville High School and Northeast University and was in the US Coast Guard. His career in finance included many years as Regional Vice President of A.G. Edwards. He also held a seat on the Board of Directors for A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. Scooter loved duck and deer hunting, playing golf and spending time with his family and friends.

Memorials may be made in Scooter’s memory to Dr. Ben B. Cobb Memorial Nursing Scholarship, ULM Foundation 700 University Avenue, Monroe, LA 71290.

So sorry to hear about the death of Scooter. My association with the Morgan family goes way back. My husband, Ellis McGee, worked at Trend House until it burned. We also worked for Amanda installing her work as a decorator in town and out of state as well. I continued to make drapes for Amanda after my husband passed away. Many memories associated with work done in the homes of their children. Look to the heavenly Father for strength and comfort at this time and in the days to come.
