MARJORIE NEWMAN COLVINAPRIL 19, 1934-OCTOBER 16, 2018Marjorie Newman Colvin, age 84 of Dubach, Louisiana, gained her heavenly wings and went to meet her Lord and Savior on October 16, 2018. She was born in Bastrop, La. to Arthur and Odette (Bergeron) Newman.Margie lived in many different places growing up. Her parents moved to Dubach in 1950 where she met John Edward Colvin, and the two were married in 1952. They decided to make Dubach their home and together raised three children, Jan, John Ed and Paul. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and Sharon Baptist Church.Left to honor and remember her love are her two children Jan and husband Sid McCullin of Benton, LA, John Ed and wife Carla Colvin of Ruston, LA, and her daughter-in-law Karen Colvin of Farmerville, LA; six grandchildren: Chase (Katie) and Gabe (Amy) McCullin, Charlie (Lauren), Zach, and Josh (Alayna) Colvin, and Beth (Jason) Alber; twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Clifford Newman, and her son, Paul David.Pallbearers are her grandsons; Chase and Gabe McCullin, Charlie, Zach, and Josh Colvin, and Jason Alber.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M.on Friday, October 19, at Sharon Baptist Church, Highway 152, Dubach, Louisiana, with the pastor Carroll Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon cemetery.The family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. till time of service at the church.The Colvin family would like to extend their gratitude to her friends and the staff at Alpine nursing home for their attentiveness and loving care. Many thanks go to her church family for their continued ministry to her.
