Marjorie Pardue Mitchell Funeral services for Marjorie Pardue Mitchell, 91, of Ruston will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Temple Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Rick Byargeon and Rev. Dale Oden officiating the service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Temple Baptist Church, WMU, and Twilight Garden Club. She loved her church and her church family. Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother of six children. More than forty years ago Marjorie and several of her Sunday school class members began a ¨Birthday Group. Throughout the years others joined in to celebrate their birthdays. This group of friends included Esta Baker, Chris Bowman, Iwilla Hamilton, Lavena Lann, Inez Rainwater, Millie Rainwater, Louise Riser, Loree Shelby, Ruth Simpson, Josephine Stewart, Lucille Sutton, and Elaine Taylor. She always looked forward to getting together with her friends and visiting. She is preceded in death by her husband John A Mitchell, Sr.; three daughters, Glenda Strickland, Martha Jane King, and Judy Mitchell; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Pardue; and two brothers, James and Prentiss Pardue. She is survived by three sons; Johnny Mitchell, Jim Mitchell and wife Kathleen all of Ruston; Billy Mitchell and wife Chancy of Charlotte, NC; twelve grandchildren; Debbie Strickland, Lisa Bailey and husband Carl, Angel Beckham, Pam King, John Mitchell, Anna Mitchell, Parker Mitchell, Brant Mitchell and wife Amy, Meg Sanks and husband Michael, Abbie Mitchell, Nicci Mitchell, and Will Mitchell; six great grandchildren; sister, Jimmie White and husband Frank of Daphne, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be Carl Bailey, Chris Bailey, Cody Beckham, Brant Mitchell, John A. Mitchell, III, Parker Mitchell, Will Mitchell, and Michael Sanks. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. The family would especially like to thank the staff from Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation for the loving care they gave Marjorie; to the nursing staff in ICU at Lincoln General Hospital; and to Dr. Mark Blackwelder.
