Memorial services for Marieanne Hereford will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Marieanne was born March 10, 1937 in New York City and passed away on February 24, 2021 in Monroe. She spent her early years in Europe during World War II and returned to the New York area after the war. Marieanne attended Lasell Junior College and graduated from Saint Mary-Of-The-Woods College. Her work experience included over 35 years in housing in Louisiana and also in Indiana. She was involved in numerous volunteer activities and enjoyed helping the Boy Scouts, PTA, League of Women Voters, her church, AARP Tax Program and many others throughout her lifetime. She was a member and elder of Graceminster Presbyterian Church and retired as Planning Director from the Monroe Housing Authority in 2010. Marieanne was a child of God; wife and best friend to Don for over 65 years; mother; grandmother; and friend to many. She loved to dance with her beloved Don, play tennis, snow ski, travel, and eat out with friends.
Marieanne was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Emily Mayer and grand-daughter, Kaitlin Hereford. She is survived by her husband, Don Hereford; children, Dan Hereford and wife Nanette of Louisville, Kentucky, Michael Hereford and wife Trenka of Pinehurst, Texas, and Katherine Means and husband Stuart of Whitehouse, Texas; grandchildren, Keith Hereford, Brianna Webster and husband Curtis, Seth Hereford, Sydney Hereford, Nicolas Means, Samantha Means, Dustin Means; great-grandchildren, Grace Webster and Lucy Christmas; sister, Carol Joyce Utter; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Graceminster Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
