Margaret Francis of Monroe, LA passed away on June 14, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She turned 59 on June 9. Her funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Gwin Memorial Cemetery in Mangham, LA. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 17, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Jason Cheek, Michael Chisholm, John Frelich, Charlie Gammill, Toby Godfrey, and Mike Hammock. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Johnston, Buddy Roberts, and Stanley Smith. Margaret was born June 9, 1948 in Tokyo, Japan. She came with her parents to America in 1952. She was the eldest child of E. A. Felter, Sr. and Mrs. Setsuko Felter. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Glynn Francis; son, Chris Francis of Allen, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Toby Godfrey of Advance, North Carolina; grandson, Gage Godfrey of Advance, North Carolina; mother, Setsuko Collier of Monroe, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Ellison and Kathy Felter of Calhoun, LA; sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Johnny Wayne Chisholm of Mangham, LA; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Charlie Gammill of Rayville, LA; numerous nieces and nephews, and toy fox terriers, Max and Mattie. Margaret touched many lives. She worked at CenturyTel for many years. She loved her ¨Newcomer Sunday School class and her church. Margaret leaves behind many special friends that she dearly loved. She always has a kind word and a smile for everyone. She loved life. The last several years she enjoyed traveling all over the world including to Japan with her mother, sister, niece and nephew and to Israel and Italy with her church friends. She loved her everyday activities and projects and spending time with her mother. Margaret especially loved her grandchild, Gage, and thought he hung the moon and stars. She loved her husband and children dearly and enjoyed traveling with her husband to see Gage in North Carolina. She was a good wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend.
