Marcus was my brother in spirit. Whenever we would speak on the phone he would always tell me he loved me before we ended the call. After leaving Ruston six years ago, Marcus was one of the few people that kept in touch. He was a true friend.
Scott Zentner left a message on August 10, 2020:
So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Marcus for several years in the community mental health system. He was a bit of a maverick, but in a positive way...always putting his clients and their needs first, which is difficult to do in any organization mired in bureaucracy. He knew how to confront without alienating, a rare and admirable quality of a good therapist. Marcus was very passionate, creative, fun and funny. He was a true original. Always enjoyed our visits. I will miss him, as will so many others. When I think of Marcus, I think of this by Emerson... To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded. Godspeed, Dr. Scott Zentner

Only met Mark once at Casey & Alex's wedding. What an amazing adventure he had while here on earth. As the Tim McGraw song reminds us live like you are dying, without fear and making the most of each day. Our Sunday school would teacher would frequently tell us when you get to heaven one of the questions you may be asked how many did you bring with you. We know lived his life to help others know Christ. Praying for his parents & family
