Funeral services for M B Bearden, 68, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at North Monroe Baptist Church, Monroe, LA. Reverend Oda “Tuck” Roberts will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Nebo Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Bearden was born August 16, 1942 in Union Parish, LA and passed away September 28, 2010 in Houston, TX. Mr. Bearden was preceded in death by his parents Cecil J. Bearden and Ethel Marie Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois Bearden; children Reverend Bill Wright and wife Rhonda, Tracy Bearden and wife Toshia, Michael Bearden and wife Chere', Michelle Hodge and husband Darren, Chris Bearden and wife Krystal, Crystal Slade and husband Shannon; grandchildren Ashley Lucas, Joshua Wright, Savannah Bearden, Brandon and Victoria Yarbrough, Austin Bolding, Jacob Bearden, Megan Lallier, Andee' and Jon-Mical Hodge, Chelsea, Wyatt and Parker Bearden, Camdyn, Cailey Rae and Cavin Slade; great grandchildren; Carter and Abbey Lucas; sisters; Ethel Mae Jones and Joye Dale Phamplin; brother-in-law; Dave Morgan and wife Rhonda; sister-in-law; Patsy Couey and husband Oliver; aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. His total commitment and determination to see the task through to completion was indicated by his only employment at Scott's Companies where he served as Accountant and Vice President of Administration for 47 years. He leaves behind many co-workers whose lives were better because of his influence and training. His love for Jesus Christ and people compelled him to serve as a member of local Baptist churches as deacon, bus ministry director, Sunday School Director, teacher, Outreach, Baptist Brotherhood and RA's for boys. He also enjoyed singing in the choir and Sounds of Praise Gospel Quartet. He was always seeking to minister and influence people for Jesus Christ. Pallbearers will be Dewey Street, Lance Pankey, Donnie Bearden, Ken Bearden, Virgil Davis, Danny Williams, Arthur Earl, Danny Duke. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve King, Jerry Antley, Jim Peters, Cliff White, Sonny Standifer, Ron Nix, Herb Peterson, Bill Tucker. Memorials may be made to North Monroe Children/Youth Ministry, St. Jude's Children's Research and Gideons. Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 AM Saturday until service time.
