Mr. McGehee was always a joy when he visited his son, Lucius at Argent. We at Argent will miss him greatly. I know when he got to the gates of Heaven and St. Peter said "It's good to see you Lucius" he had to have replied "It's good to be seen". Many prayers are with you and your sweet family!

Lou McGehee was a great man and a great friend to the coaches at Louisiana Tech under Jack Bicknell. I always appreciated his genuine sincerity and his words of wisdom, every time he came into the field house. He helped everyone keep things in perspective with his high spirited approach to life. He never knew how contagious he really was. He loved every minute of life and we loved every minute that we were around him. His legacy is long and powerful and he will be sorely missed by all but we are thankful for the time we were able to spend with Lou McGehee and we are all better people because of it.

I rememer so well when Mr.Mcgehee would come in the Peds Dept looking for "his son". He would ask for Dr. Mcgehee and we would say "Oh he's around here somewhere. Mr. Mcgehee's response would be "Well I know he's not working". I also remember that sweet smile he always had on his face when he came in. Dr. Mcgehee and family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love,

I sure hated to hear of Mr. Lu's death. He was a very wise man. He & my daddy served together on the board at PCA and both my parents thought alot of him, as did I. My prayers are with the family at this sorrowful time. I pray the Lord gives you the strength you need to deal with your loss.

Judy Robeaux Bowyer left a message on November 15, 2010:
David and Deborah, It is with sadness that I learned of your Father's passing. It was just last week that I was writing the same type note to Cecile Herbert Burgeis for her Mother. Unfortunately we are all now at that age where these things happen on a more frequent basis. That doesn't make it any easier. My Dad was in his 80's when his Mother died at 103 and it was just as hard. No one ever wants to lose a loved one. My heart and prayers are with you. Love, Judy Bowyer
Jack and Helen Bicknell left a message on November 15, 2010:
It's hard to use the word sad in the same sentence as Lu McGhee, so we won't. Mr. Lu was a great, great man. An inspiration to us all and will be sorely missed here on earth, but what a great time will be had by all in heaven when Mr. Lu shares his stories! He served his Lord well and lives on through his loving family. We will forever remember him and his family for how wonderful they were to us when we lived in Ruston. A true friend and gentleman whom we will miss dearly, Jack and Helen Bicknell

Thinking of all of you during this time and hope that God comforts and help you through this time of grief. Very, very nice man, and he and Ms Mildred seem to have done a very remarkable job raising the family. It was obvious at the visitation just how many lives Mr Lou had a positive impact on. He was a special man, now in a very special place. God Bless all of you.
Marilyn Dowell Burel left a message on November 15, 2010:
Praying for you this morning of the memorial service. What a great example and memory Lu leaves for us: an example of Christ's love and generosity and an infectious sense of humor. Mother always called him "Lulu." I never realized he was born on Uncle Bob's birthday. Uncle Bob always called me "birthday" because we all have the same birthday. I feel blessed to have this special connection to remember them both each birthday. much love to you, Marilyn

He will always hold a very special place in my heart.I loved him. Glen and I will be thinking of all of you today and for days to come. My love, Dot

To all of the wonderful McGehee family. Many of my fondest memories in Ruston are of your precious Dad. My father admired and thought so highly of him as a business man but mostly because of his integrity and ethics. He legacy lives on with each of his wonderful children and their families. He always had the brightest smile and made you feel as if you were exactly the person he wanted to see...often with a special compliment and a joke. His faith was immenient in his life and he was always such an honorable and kind person. God has graced many of us with knowing Mr. McGehee...and we are all the better for it. Each of you are in my heart and prayers at this time...and I will continue to pray that the knowledge he is now in the arms of Our Precious Lord will help you in your own healing. May God's graces bless each of you...Cornelia O'Kelley England
