Funeral services for Mrs. Loyce Madden Stell, 91, of West Monroe will be Monday morning, January 21st, 2008, at 10:30AM in Feazel Chapel of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn and Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Interment services will be at 3:00PM in the family plot in the Promised Land Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamburg, AR under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.Born September 16th, 1916, in Kosciusko, MS, she was a daughter of the late Darius and Gertrude Douglas Madden. She was a long-time resident of West Monroe and an active member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe where she was a member of the choir, WMU, and Sunday School teacher. A loving mother and devoted grandmother, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dr. Darius S. Madden, Jr.; sister, Flora Mae White; and a granddaughter, Anna Johnson.Survivors include 5 daughters, Billie Marie Spivey and husband, James, Gloria Ann Bell and husband, Billy, Carolyn Chandler and husband, Bob, Rosalyn Touchstone and husband, Harold, and Judy Riley and husband, Butch;13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a large number of beloved relatives and friends.Visitation will be Sunday evening, January 20th, 2008, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eddie and Stephen Johnson, Todd McDowell, James, Bradley, Craig, and Stuart Spivey, and Hugh and Christopher Clark. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of their mother?s friends, the nursing staff at St Francis Hospital and Dr. Sunil Prem.Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA.
