Funeral services for Mrs. Lorraine Gorman Townsend, 83, will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2007 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Gerald Lewis, and Rev. Bill Lewis. Interment will follow at Coax Cemetery in Baskin, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Townsend was born September 7, 1923 in Winnsboro, LA and went to be with her Lord on January 4, 2007. She was a member of Swartz Assembly of God Church. As a loving mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Townsend is survived her two children, James Townsend and wife Sheila of West Monroe, and Linda Temple and husband Don of Swartz; three grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and husband Jamie, Chris Temple and wife April, and Jeff Townsend and wife Dawn; seven great grandchildren, Megan Smith, Christian Temple, MacKenzie Townsend, MacGregor Townsend, MacCade Townsend, Kendall Townsend and Parker Townsend; sisters, Joyce Young, Everlene Westerburg, brother Macune Gorman. Hello, I am working with a fmaliy who has six children, the youngest of whom is determined little spitfire who happens to have Down's Syndrome. He is 4 years old and is not a verbal communicator. He has been receiving physical and speech therapy since birth. He is home-schooled. He is demonstrating great frustration at not being able to have his speech attempts understood. I have worked with him using several augmentative communication apps on my iPad. He is highly motivated by the communicative abilities contained in these apps. His fmaliy does not have the funds to purchase an iPad for him.Do you know of any funding sources? Thank you for your consideration.Sincerely,Susan Montgomery
