Graveside services for Lonn William Parsons will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Lonn was welcomed home by Jesus on Tuesday. He was born in West Monroe, Louisiana on May 19, 1967 and passed away unexpectedly in Houston, Texas on March 28, 2023.
Lonn was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Yvonne George Parsons; father, George William Parsons; step-mother, Beth Nale Parsons; and nephew, Joshua Parsons.
He is survived by his sister, Lauren Parsons Bokel of Houston, Texas; brother, Layne (Vicki) Parsons of Richardson, Texas; nephews, Noah (Alley) Parsons of Haughton, Louisiana and Simon Parsons of Dallas, Texas; great niece, Auralynn Parsons of Haughton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Lonn grew up in Monroe and Shreveport, Louisiana, and then graduated from high school in Clinton, Mississippi. He was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University where he was involved in student government and editor of the MSU yearbook, The Reveille, during his senior year. He loved his Bulldogs. After graduation, he found his way to Houston, Texas for employment. Lonn was a Senior Paralegal Specialist at Cozen O’Connor where his co-workers were like family to him.
Lonn devoted many hours volunteering each year at the Houston Rodeo. He also supported the Houston Food Bank and other charities. Lonn loved all sports but baseball was his favorite. He was a huge Houston Astros fan. He loved animals and leaves behind two dogs, Ginger and Harley, and two cats, Dusty and Gidget. Lonn loved cooking for himself and others. With his upbringing in North Louisiana and Mississippi, his love for southern things like seafood, fleur-de-lis memorabilia, and antiques were a constant all of his life. Lonn was passionate about plants and had a knack for all kinds of technology. Lonn was a hard worker and put his all into everything he did. His style and creativity were welcoming to all as he enjoyed living. He will be missed.
