Lois Clay Maurer Vail left this life on May 4, 2020. She was born December 21, 1923 in Bosco, LA.
She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1941 and from Monroe Commercial School in 1942. During World War II she worked as a secretary in the office of the General of the Army in Washington, D.C. Then she was secretary to the President of Falstaff Brewing Company in St. Louis, MO. Then worked for the Deputy General Manager of the F-18 Fighter Plane production at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Vail and first husband, Henry Maurer; her parents, Forrest and Doris Clay of Bosco, LA, two sisters Betty Berger and Annie Clay and one brother, Vernon Clay; nephews Melvin Berger, Frank Clay and Henry Clay.
Surviving loved ones are step-daughter Donna Vail Hughes and husband Ricky, sister, Dolores Clay Stiles; two nieces Georgia Stiles and Cynthia Ferguson and husband Timothy; nephews Robin Stiles and wife Linda; nephews Vernon Clay and Marvin Clay; great-nephew Alan Henry and great niece, Karri Martin.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Hwy 147 Brown Road, Hodge, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home
