Funeral services celebrating the life of Lois Marie Ree Fails Pearce, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church, Ruston, Louisiana. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Byargeon, Rev. Dale Oden, and Rev. David Abernathy. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012, 5 — 7 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church. Ree was born November 29, 1926 in Kilbourne, Louisiana. She went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on June 19, 2012. Ree moved to Ruston to attend Louisiana Tech, graduating with a degree in Education. While in college, she joined Temple Baptist Church where she met the love of her life, Reeves Pearce, She spent her life ministering to others and sharing her deep faith. Ree had a profound love for her church, Temple Baptist, where she was involved in numerous church activities such as a life-long Sunday School teacher, WMU, where she served as president, and the Young at Heart Group. She was considered a true and dedicated prayer warrior who influenced many lives with her giving spirit. Ree's love of teaching brought her to Ruston High School, where she enjoyed teaching English and Creative Writing for many years. Her legacy will live on through many generations. Journal writing was one of her greatest pleasures, writing daily for years. Family gatherings were always joyous occasions. Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought her many blessings as she was involved in their lives and prayed for each one of them daily. Ree is preceded in death by her beloved husband since 1946, William Reeves Pearce of Ruston, her parents Charlie Williams Fails and Marietta Georgia Ross Fails of Kilbourne, LA, sister Hazel Fails Morrow of Lamar, CO, and members of the T.J. Pearce, Sr. family. Ree is survived by her children LaWanda Pearce Cox and husband Carl, Marshall Reeves Pearce and wife Carolyn, Pam Pearce Garbarino, and Jim Charles Pearce and wife Sherri, She is also survived by her grandchildren Charles Skip Pinkston IV and wife Robin, Casey Fields and husband Dean, Daniel Paul Garbarino and wife Piper, Ryan Reeves Kilpatrick and wife Sarah, Kristin Kilpatrick Stuart and husband Robert, Ross Bertrand Garbarino, Cissy Stevenson and husband Jay, William Read Stanley, Marshall Reeves Pearce, Jr., Caroline Marie Pearce, Megan Elizabeth Pearce, Hunter Reeves Pearce, Brandon Morelle Pearce, and her great grandchildren Brianna Michelle Pinkston, Meredith Leigh Pinkston, Carson Jack Fields, Addison Marie Fields, Georgia Kate Stuart, Pearce Elizabeth Stuart, Reeves Kenneth Kilpatrick, Rhodes Benson Kilpatrick, Cooper Wesley Garbarino, Campbell Bess Garbarino, and Paxton James Stevenson. She is also survived by her niece Carol Hall and son Chuck of Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews from the T.J. Pearce family. The family would like to thank those who have so lovingly cared for her over the last few months.
