Graveside services for Mr. Lloyd ‟Rae” Greer will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Culbertson Baptist Church Cemetery in Farmerville, LA.
In loving memory of Lloyd “Rae” Greer, Round Rock, TX, formerly of Farmerville, LA. Rae was born August 26, 1932 to M. A. and Minnie Greer and passed on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He married the love of his life, Mildred “Pill” Youngblood, in 1958 and raised two children, Deborah Ann and Ricky Neal. Rae was preceded in passing by Mildred and Deborah and is survived by his loving son, Rick Greer and grandsons, Christopher Greer & Kyal Greer, and granddaughter, Christie Self. Rae is also survived by many loving family members and friends who will miss him.
Rae was an avid sports fan. He watched every game that was on and liked nothing more than watching the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters playing basketball. He frequently traveled with the team and looked forward to the Final 4. Rae was an exceptionally organized person and it’s thought that his years serving our country in the military instilled that measure of discipline in him. His organizing skills served him well because Rae and Mildred spent many happy years adding to the wide variety of their beautiful and fun collections. Rae was a man of faith and one of the highlights of his week was going to church and worshipping God with his closest friends. As much as Rae enjoyed his friends, church, and his house on the lake in LA, Rae moved to TX to be closer to his son. He thought of and missed his friends and church very much. Prior to his passing, Rae said, “we’ll trust God in 2021 like we always have.”
During this sad time, Rae’s family finds comfort knowing that he and Mildred are reunited again in heaven.
