Marchant, 68, of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Carter.He is preceded in death by his parents; Bertha and Adam Marchant, and a brother, Everett Marchant.Mr. Marchant passed away at his residence on November 2, 2007 after a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father, brother, Papaw, and great Papaw; and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.He is survived by his wife of 48 years Katherine ?Kat? Marchant of Farmerville, LA; son, Michael ? Mike? Marchant and wife Marlene of Farmerville, LA; daughter, Sandra ? Sandi? Thurston and husband James ?Jay? of Linville, LA; sisters, Jane Wood and husband David of Boone?s Mill, VA; Eva Blevins and husband Curtis of Chilhowie, VA; Lacie Marchant of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren Launa Liggin and husband Sam of Linville, LA; Chelsea Chapman of Linville, LA; Joey Marchant of Farmerville, LA; Alissa Marchant of Farmerville, LA; great-grandchild, Kamryn Liggin of Linville, LA; numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends Margie and Cecil Brown of Farmerville, LA. As being a assistant coroner I have seen my cases of death and believe me I know how hard it is not only from my job as the assistant coroner but as someone that has lost a close loved one.
