Funeral services for Linda L. Fox of Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 27, 2023, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Pastor James Doughty officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Ms. Fox was born July 22, 1943, in Oak Grove, Louisiana and passed from this life to her heavenly home on July 23, 2023, just after her 80th birthday. Ms. Fox is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Willie Mae Fox; sisters, Brenda Sue Fox and Cindy Fox Lensing; nephew Will Lensing and brother-in-law Randy Prewitt. Ms. Fox is survived by her daughter, Beth Green and husband Scott; son, Richard “Shag” Wheelington; grandchildren, Caroline Green Barton and Spencer Green; brother, Larry Fox and wife Kathy; sister, Debbie Fox Prewitt; brother-in-law, Bill Lensing; very special nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Ms. Fox was reared on a farm in Oak Grove, Louisiana, where she learned from her generous parents the values of hard work and helping others. Ms. Fox attended Oak Grove High School where she was voted a class beauty, was a cheerleader and a member of the homecoming court. She graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College (ULM) in 1966 and enjoyed a rewarding career in child welfare helping children and families in need. After retirement, Ms. Fox served as a volunteer coordinator for the Ouachita Parish Library adult reading program. Ms. Fox was a member of First Monroe Baptist Church and loved the fellowship of her dear church family.
Ms. Fox had a quick wit, mischievous smile, infectious laugh and never met a stranger! “GiGi” loved her grandchildren dearly and supported them in all of their endeavors. Ms. Fox will be greatly missed on this earth, but her family and friends find joy and peace in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior for all eternity.
Pallbearers for Ms. Fox’s service will be grandson, Spencer Green; nephews David Tate and Benjamin Tate and special family friends, Troy Green, Chris Minor and Glenn Rountree. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Allegiance Home Health and Allegiance Hospice with special thanks to registered nurses Nikki Camp and Nathan Hancock and certified nursing assistant, Michelle Boyd, who ministered to her physical needs during this past year.
