Linda Ellerbe Griffin passed away on February 5, 2023, in the presence of loving family in Charlottesville, VA.  Linda was born on October 10, 1944 in Harrisonburg, LA.  She eventually settled in West Monroe, LA, where she was actively engaged throughout her life in business, civic, family, school and church activities.  Linda was a member of First United Methodist Church of Monroe. She’ll always be remembered as fearlessly loving, spirited and having never met a stranger. She loved traveling, visiting with friends and family, telling stories and enjoying Southern cooking.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Lavelle Griffin, mother Robbie and adopted father Nolan Ellerbe, as well as stepmother Amelia Ellerbe. Linda is survived by her son James Griffin and wife, Claire, and step-children Kathye Cox, Cindy Griffin and Stephen Griffin and wife, Joanne; grandchildren, James, Jackson, Ron, Hayley, Griffin and Brienne.

Entombment will be in Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Open Air Chapel Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.  No public services will be held; a private memorial service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America in her name.
