Funeral services for Mrs. Levie Mae Bryan 92 of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2011 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Gordon ¨Skip Dean will be officiating, Interment to follow at Kilpatrick≠s Serenity Gardens West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Levie Mae Bryan was born July 10, 1918 in Delhi, LA and passed away April 7, 2011 in Mer Rouge. Levie Mae Bryan lived a full life of love for family and friends. Levie Mae considered all family close family and friends were no less than distant relatives. Her home was always open to anyone who dropped by and the stove seldom had time to cool as she loved to cook for all that would eat. She was a very social person and took interest in everyone even to the slightest of acquaintances. Hardly a person that crossed her path escaped without her asking ¨what is your name and who are your peopleÉ\u0096I bet I know them and before you walked away you were family. Levie Mae was passionate about genealogy and made as good an attempt as ever made to trace her roots back to Noah. Levie Mae was recognized by the governor of Louisiana in 2010 for having one of the top ten longest lasting marriages in the state of Louisiana, 76 years. But long before that she was recognized as the cornerstone of home and family by her husband and children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends that knew and loved her as she had known and loved them. Levie Mae is survived by her husband, Irvin R. Bryan; son, Stanley R. Bryan and wife Delores; daughter, Bobbye Jones and husband, John; grandsons, Ronny Jones and wife Maureen; Gregory Jones, Rusty Bryan and wife Kristina; great-grandchildren; Emily Bryan, Nathaniel Bryan, Abigail Bryan, Trevor Jones and Chandler Jones. Pallbearers will be Ronny Jones, Gregory Jones, Trevor Jones and Archie Lee Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be William Curry and Roy Doolittle. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
