Interment will follow at Luna Assembly of God Church West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.Mrs. Gordey was born November 28, 1922 in Arcadia, LA and passed away January 7, 2008 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of Luna Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Gordey is survived by husband, Henry Gordey; sons, Joe Lasyone and wife Carrie, Sherwood Gordey and wife Erenia; daughters, Beth Kelley and husband Clyde, Kay Travis and husband Leroy; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.

Aunt Lavenia as I know her is my husband's aunt.  I remember seeing her at the grocery store buying groceries and she always had a smile on her face and made me feel she was so happy to see me and Rickey.  Rickey thought so much of her.  She was his daddy's sister and will be remembered as a very sweet woman.  We will miss seeing her.  May she rest in peace with her God and her family that has gone on before her.  Heaven shines alittle brighter now that Aunt Lavenia has entered.  Our prayers are with all the family.  Debbie & Rickey Smith
