Funeral services for Larry Lofton will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 7, 2020 at Ouachita Baptist Church in West Monroe. Dr. Mike Holloway will officiate and the eulogy provided by Chuck Donnelly. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 7, 2020 before the service, at the church.
Larry was born January 3, 1947 in Winnsboro, Louisiana and passed away on September 4, 2020 in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church where he was known as “the candyman” and always love to “pick” on everyone. Larry was retired from Texas Gas and was an avid hunter/fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, True and Gladys Lofton; sister, Carolyn Foy.
Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dewanna Lofton; three children, Larry DeWayne Lofton and wife Kristy, Bridgett Rickard and husband Jeffrey, Shawn Mills and wife April; brothers, Lamar Ritchie and wife Sylvia, Marvin Ritchie and wife Betty; sister, Sheila Fuller and husband Greg; grandchildren, Tyler Lofton, Logan Lofton, Cooper Mills, Carlie Mills, Rylie Rickard; many nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Nolan, O.L Gregory, Keith Thompson, Glen Heckard, Eddie Holbrook and Jeremy Cearley. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Colvin, Bobby Lively and Dr. John Cooksey.
