Funeral services for Kent Brown, 90, of Monroe, LA will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe, LA. Mr. Brown was born on November 20, 1920 in Jackson, MS and passed away on July 17, 2011 in Monroe, LA. He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment hauler with Louisiana Machinery. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Colman Brown; father, Emmitt Brown and mother, Jewell Pittman Jolly; and sister, Lyndell Layton. Mr. Brown is survived by his son, Kenny Brown and wife, Jane; daughter, Debbie Ryder and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Andrew Brown and wife, Kathy, Emily Brown Folk and husband, Trey, Ken Tucker and wife, Wendy, Ashley Nichols and husband, Heath, Sarah Myles and husband, Earl, Jason Minor and wife, Jessie, and Kristen Ryder; sisters, Betty Jewell Adcox, Audell Lee, and Ollie Bee Moore all of Mendenhall, MS; a host of nieces and nephews; and 5 great-grandchildren.
