Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5
Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of Kathleen Davis Robideaux, age 95, of West Monroe, La. will be held at Hasley Cemetery’s Gazebo on March 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Grandson Reverend Joseph Robideaux will officiate.
Kathleen was born on September 4, 1926, in Florien, La. to the union of John F. and Julia Byrd Davis. She was one of eleven children. Kathleen grew up during the Great Depression. Her family farmed and worked hard to survive. She said having a cow and a garden made the difference between surviving and starving. It instilled in her an inner strength gained from having lived through the worst of times. Kathleen passed away on March 21, 2022.
Kathleen graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1943. After attending Business School, she went to work for the U.S. Army at Fort Polk. There she served as Administrative Assistant for base and visiting officers. In 1946, she met Loran Merle Robideaux. They were married on December 14, 1946. During the first 18 months of marriage, they moved 16 times, following his job with Western Electric. She continued to follow where he led, and has now made the final move to her husband of 55 years, who is in heaven. Also there to welcome Kathleen is her eldest son Harvey Robideaux.
Kathleen is survived by sons Douglas Robideaux and wife Sharon, Kenny Robideaux and wife Leta, and daughter-in-law Barbara Robideaux; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, Sister Maxine Bird, and several nieces and nephews.
Mom, thank you for always being there for us, encouraging us, helping us, and most of all loving us. We will work hard to try and attain the standard you set of a godly life lived. You are so loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:28-31
