Karen Morvant Carlton, age 67 of Dubach, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Friday, June18, 2021, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana.
Born in Erath, La. in 1954, Karen was raised in Lafayette, La., and moved to Sikes, LA in 1986 where she and her husband Mike raised their three children. Her career led her to Hunt Guillot & Associates, where she worked as a grant manager for the last thirteen years. Her greatest loves on this Earth were her husband, kids, and grandkids. Karen accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior the previous Friday and is now in the presence of her Lord.
Karen was the daughter of the late Wylie Morvant and Verna Morvant. She was preceded in death by her sister Wendy Leigh Morvant, her godmother, Rowena Comeaux, and her sister-in-law Jeannie Lowery.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Mike Carlton, son Michael Carlton (Cheryll) daughter Wendy Curry (Byron) and Chance Carlton (Noel), eight grandchildren, Jacob, Lauren, Zach Carlton, Tayler, Conner, Piper Curry, Nolan Carlton, and a baby girl arriving in September, her mother Verna Morvant, her sister Missy Morvant, brother Byron Morvant, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at New Prospect Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family at New Prospect Baptist Church on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 12:00pm until the time of services.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Carlton, Zach Carlton, Byron Curry, Conner Curry, Daniel Dellucci, Bradley Land, Phillip Duhon and Paul Lowery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, and Hope Place Warren.
