Funeral services for Juan Gonzalez, 86, of Eros, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Monroe, LA. Father Paul will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Juan was born January 27, 1934 and passed away June 28, 2020. He retired from The City of Monroe as a mechanic and also was a cabinet maker for Bayou Woods. Juan was preceded in death by his father Julian Gonzalez, mother  Elvira Gonzalez Adame, step-father, Jose Adame; sister Lydia Gonzales; grandson Bobby Sanford; great-grandson Gage Meeks.

Juan is survived by his wife of 67 years Tomasa Gonzalez; sisters Bonita Jones and Josephine Longoria; 5 children Juanita Gonzalez Porter (Jack), Anita Renee Meeks (Michael) John Thomas Gonzalez, Mary Abigail Ecker (Keith), Marie Elizabeth Chambers (Thomas); 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great children and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Porter, T.J. Ecker, Tommy Gonzalez, Bobby Chambers, Reggie Meeks and Zach Chambers.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Meeks, Chris Porter, Jessie Sellers and Jakob Porter.

So sorry to hear of Johnny’s death! My I remember the good times as a teenager going to their house! While I worked at the City of Monroe Water Department, he worked nearby and would need to come to our Department from time to time, and he always came into my office to talk. We were saddened to hear of Tio Juan’s passing. We will miss Tio Juan especially during the summer when he would bring Tia Tommie and family to visit our family in Relampago Ranch.
