Our condolences to Miss Joyce's family during this time. She cooked many a pan of awesome cathead biscuits for Joe V and his roofing crews.....my hubby was among them. Truly a wonderful lady.

I am saddened to hear of this loss to your family and our community. I have so many good memories of Mrs. Joyce. She was always one to say whatever she thought, and truly that is an admirable quality in a person in this day and time. The last several years when I've run into Mrs. Joyce, she has been just as full of spit and vinegar as ever! Only lately has she shown signs of slowing down. To me, as I am well into my middling years that spunk she showed me did two things. First it inspires me that maybe this ole hooptie can go another thirty, forty years. The second thing Mrs. Joyce did was to make me think about my mama. There is a level of distribution that comes with advanced years. One way that can be expressed is in speaking one's mind, speaking freely. Like I said earlier, I am saddened over y'alls loss, but sweet memories of y'alls mama will do as they have all day today thinking of Mrs. Joyce. Memories of her will always bring a smile to my face.
