In the early morning of September 23, 2022, Joseph Terry Malmay left his earthly home in Calhoun, LA traveling in the loving arms of His Jesus to his Eternal Home in Heaven.
Terry 28 years old was born on May 30, 1994 and, from, his first breath, touched the lives of all he met. Early on, it was evident Terry was destined to be known as a prankster. As he grew older, it became clear he was a deep thinker, making one question how to look beyond the obvious. One descriptive often used for Terry was “Gentle Giant,” due to his large size and his tender heart. His love for his daughter Mechelle was beyond measure. No one doubted that she truly was his pride and joy. Terry’s love for his family, friends, and co-workers at Iron Cactus was obvious to all who knew Him. To know him was to love him. Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Faye DeMoss, Maudie DeMoss, Tommy Ray Malmay, Sr., Helen Faye Garvan and Charles Ray, Sr. and Agnes Whitlock.
Terry is survived by: daughter Mechelle Faye Malmay, and her mother Heather Hall; mother and bonus dad, Ellen and Wendell Whitlock; father Mike Malmay; grandmother Barbara Malmay; sisters Nicole Malmay (Erin Miller) and Rebecca Doucett (Dylan Doucett); nephews Gavin, Gabriel, Noah, Austin and Caden; nieces Olivia and Ellie; best friend and cousin Adam Calhoun as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Waylon Piercey officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Paying tribute as pallbearers will be Adam Calhoun, David DeMoss, Jacob DeMoss, Dylan Doucett, Brad Parker, Jerry (Jay) Cooper, Destin Reppond, and Zak Books.
Honorary pallbearers are Chester Anders, Mike DeMoss, Gary DeMoss, Erin Miller and Blake Head.
